Co-hosted by the Chair of the WCB’s Board of Directors, and the Deputy Minister of the Nova Scotia Department of Labour, Skills and Immigration, the meeting will provide a system performance update and offer discussion about new opportunities for system improvements. Our vision is safe, healthy workplaces for Nova Scotians, and sustainable safety and insurance services.
The Workplace Safety and Insurance System includes workers, employers, the agencies—Workers’ Advisers Program (WAP), Workers’ Compensation Appeals Tribunal (WCAT), Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) and the Workers’ Compensation Board of Nova Scotia (WCB)—and others who provide services in the System.
Our strategic goals are to:
- improve outcomes for workers and employers;
- improve service delivery;
- ensure effective governance of the System; and
- ensure financial sustainability of the System
Our mission is to work together to help keep people healthy and safe at work, to insure against loss and to support workers’ rehabilitation. We strive to be fair, open and responsible in everything we do.
